Ride for a cause

On 17th June, 2023, we witnessed an exhilarating day, when bikers across the city banned together and took to the streets of Bangalore for a special cause; to help blood cancer and blood disorder patients.

The first ever Bike Rally hosted by DKMS Foundation India turned out to be a huge success due to the active participation of many committed individuals.

We had the pleasure of hosting four influential biking enthusiasts, Typical Kannadiga, KA_09_rider, Geeky Akash, and Practical Kannadiga, who traveled all the way from Mysore, just to show their support towards our cause. Not only did they travel the extra mile, but they also invited their friends and followers to take part in the extraordinary event.

Over 80 passionate motorcyclists, donned in vibrant red t-shirts participated in the rally, which started from the DKMS Foundation India office on CMH Road, Indiranagar, and concluded at Alliance Française de Bangalore. The rally route covered significant landmarks such as Vidhan Soudha, Cubbon Park, and Kanteerva Stadium, effectively spreading awareness about blood cancer and the scarcity of blood stem cell donors in India.

Among the riders were people of all ages, and all walks of life, coming together for a single great cause.

To further their support towards the cause, the influencers registered as potential donors and appealed to their followers to do so, as well. "As avid bikers, we believe in the power of the pedal and the strength of the community. Our exhilarating journeys to enchanting destinations across India have always brought us joy. Collaborating with DKMS Foundation India for this bike rally allows us to combine our love for riding with a noble cause and raise awareness to support those fighting blood cancer," expressed biking influencer Practical Kannadiga.

After the rally, a short briefing session was conducted to further educate the bikers about the cause and how their contribution would be crucial in helping blood cancer and blood disorder patients worldwide. Many bikers registered on the spot and showed their solidarity to DKMS Foundation India.
