We want to see Juhit happy and healthy forever!

Juhit

Juhit is an energetic 5-year-old kid with many skills and talents. He loves gardening, singing, and dancing to Bollywood songs! He was diagnosed with Pure Red Cell Aplasia when he was just 9 months old and must undergo blood transfusions every month, forcing him to give up on his favorite activities.

Juhit is waiting for his lifesaving match to be found!

Pure Red Cell Aplasia is a rare blood disorder -a disease in which the marrow fails to produce red cells in the blood. His only hope for a cure is a Stem Cell Transplant from a matching donor.

Speaking of his aspirations, his mom says “His dreams and ambitions are ever-growing; he wants to be everything, from being a pilot to an engineer like his dad and build houses. He is always smiling and makes us laugh with his funny acts and innocent talks.”

Even though Juhit had found a 10/10 matched donor, unfortunately, the donor refused to go through the donation due to unknown reasons. He is still waiting for a lifesaving donor who can help him lead a normal life as a 5year old.

Being a Gujarati, his chances of finding a match are slim as this community is underrepresented in the donor registry. Therefore, the family is making an urgent appeal to all and especially to people from Gujarat to come together and sign up today to give Juhit a second chance at life.

Juhit’s mom says:

“Despite his illness, he is a happy kid. We want to see him happy and healthy forever.”

Could you be the genetic match for Juhit, or someone else in need?

How we can beat blood cancer together?

For a stem cell donation, the tissue characteristics of the donor must match those of the patient. When you join the stem cell registry you are on standby to be matched and potentially save the life of anyone with a blood cancer or blood disorder who needs a blood stem cell donation. You can be the right person and with your stem cell donation a real lifesaver.

DKMS-BMST donor's stem cell donation experience

How does blood stem cell donation work?

Good to know...

For many people with a blood cancer or blood disorder, a donation from a matching blood stem cell donor is their best chance of survival.

With blood stem cell donation, only blood stem cells are donated, not blood and matches are determined by tissue type, not blood group.

Your blood stem cells will completely replenish themselves within 1-2 days of the collection.

Many people in India can't find a suitable matching donor, as the Indian donors are underrepresented in the worldwide database.

Your blood stem cells will never be stored, they last for around 72 hours and are delivered straight to the person in need by a special courier.

You will stay on the registry until your 61st birthday!

Help us to register even more lifesavers
We’d love it if you could help us get more people on the registry so that everyone who needs a blood stem cell donor can find their match.
