You donated stem cells and gave a person with blood cancer a second chance at life. This is a great, selfless achievement for which we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
If "your" patient recovers with the help of your stem cells, we are happy for you - and if he or she unfortunately dies, we are there for you even more! We offer you our help if you need and want support in coming to terms with this painful experience. Some donors are surprised by how much they are touched by the death of a person they do not know. To show you that you are not alone in these feelings, we have put together some helpful information for you.
Among other things, you will find excerpts from letters written by relatives of deceased patients, which show how much hope, time and happiness you have given with the prospect of your stem cell donation. Or rituals that can help you say goodbye. Of course, our staff members are also available to talk to you. Please call us at 07071/ 943-2303 or trauer-service@dkms.de .
