Every parent yearns to watch their child grow up and follow their dreams. This 41-year-old father, Abhilash Kumar, may lose that chance as he was recently diagnosed with a rare blood disorder and is now fighting for his life.
Abhilash Kumar, who was born in Pathanamthitta, Kerala, and currently lives in Delhi, works as a civil engineer to support his wife and daughter. A simple man with a simple wish; to be able to take care of his family.
His life was close to perfect until his unfortunate diagnosis of Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) with multilineage dysplasia. He had to undergo treatment at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and after rigorous chemotherapy sessions, his physician Dr Neeraj said the only chance of recovery for Abhilash is through a stem cell transplant from a matching donor. Due to the complexity of his disorder, he is in immediate need of a transplant otherwise his illness could worsen severely and develop into leukaemia.
Abhilash loves his family dearly and wishes to be able to spend more time with them. As the sole earner of his family, without his supports, his wife and daughter may struggle to make ends meet. Like any parent, he too wants to be able to watch his daughter grow up and live a beautiful life.
Unless Abhilash gets the immediate blood stem cell transplant that he very much requires, his days may be numbered. His family and friends feel helpless, but YOU can help!
